When Do You Submit a BSR-8 Form?
Typically, the BSR-8 is submitted either after approval by the Standards Committee or after approval by the Board, but it can be submitted concurrently with the Standards Committee ballot. This varies by department.
NOTE: BSR-8 forms are submitted even if ANSI approval is not required. (Add a comment under C&S Staff Comments that ANSI approval is not required)
There are two types of BSR-8 forms:
1. Standard BSR-8
2. Entire Document BSR-8 (to be used with Entire Document Records)
The Standard BSR-8 form and the Entire Document BSR-8 form are very similar. The main difference is the manner in which the record is selected and added to the Entire Document BSR-8 and the form layout. The forms are under periodic maintenance. The Public Review Draft must be the entire document.
