Questions for Volunteer

These are some questions to ask the volunteers you have a problem accessing C&S Connect.

 

Enabling Cookies

If a volunteer needs help enabling cookies for asme.org, have him/her perform the following steps:

 

Internet Explorer

    1. Open your browser.
    2. Click on the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
    3. Click the Privacy tab, and then click the Sites button.
    4. In Address of website, type http://www.asme.org.
    5. Click Allow.
    6. Click the OK button.
    7. Click the OK button again.

 

Firefox

    1. Click on the Tools menu and select Options.

    2. Click the Privacy tab.

    3. Under History, select either Remember History or Use custom settings for history.

    4. In Address of website, type http://www.asme.org.

    5. Click Allow.

    6. Click the Close.

    7. Click the OK button.

 

Chrome

    1. Click on the Chrome Menu button in the upper-right of the window.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Click the Show advanced settings … link at the bottom of the page.
    4. In the Privacy section, click Content settings.
    5. To enable cookies, select Allow local data to be set (recommended).
    6. Click Done.

 

Safari

    1. In the Safari Menu, select Preferences, and then click Privacy.

    2. In the Block cookies section, specify if and when Safari should accept cookies from websites. To see an explanation of the options, click the Help button (question mark).

    3. If you want to see which websites store cookies on your computer, click Details.

Enabling JavaScript

Follow the steps below to enable JavaScript.

 

Internet Explorer

    1. Open your browser.
    2. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
    3. Choose Security tab.
    4. Choose Internet.
    5. Click Custom Level button.
    6. Scroll down to heading Scripting.
    7. First subheading, Active Scripting, mark Enable.
    8. Click OK and then click OK again.
    9. Use the Back button and then Reload the page on your browser.

 

Firefox

In newer versions of Firefox, Javascript is automatically enabled, and Users should not need to change it.

 

For older versions, to access it

    1. Click the Tools menu and select Options.

    2. Choose the Content tab and click to select the Enable JavaScript checkbox.

    3. Click OK to exit the menus.

    4. Use the Back button and then Reload the page on your browser.

 

Chrome

    1. Click on the Chrome Menu button in the upper-right of the window.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Click the Show advanced settings … link at the bottom of the page.
    4. In the Privacy section, click Content settings.
    5. Under JavaScript, select the radio button for Allow all sites to run Javascript (recommended).
    6. Click Done.
    7. Reload the page on your browser.

 

Safari

    1. In the Safari Menu, select Preferences, and then click Privacy.

    2. In the Enable Javascript.

    3. Close the window.

    4. Reload the page on your browser.
